Rejection from State Attorney General

Well - Apparently Landlords can commit fraud and the Attorney General just doesn't care. . .

Dear Mr. _______,

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office Consumer Protection Section has reviewed your complaint. The Attorney General is charged with enforcing The Consumer Sales Practices Act. Unfortunately, The Consumer Sales Practices Act does not give this office jurisdiction over landlord-tenant issues. Therefore, your complaint falls outside the jurisdiction of this office. The agency listed below may be able to provide you with some advice or assistance. You may also wish to contact a private attorney to see what assistance they can provide. If you do not have an attorney your local bar association may be able to provide you with a referral.

Urban League of Cleveland

2930 Prospect Ave E

Cleveland, OH 44115

(216) 622-0999

Cleveland Bar Association

Thank you for contacting The Ohio Attorney General’s Office. I hope that in the future, should you need assistance, you will not hesitate to contact us.

Respectfully submitted,

NANCY H. ROGERS
Attorney General of Ohio
